Mill Road Saturdays

Pop-up stalls, music and fun at the gateway to Mill Road

Covid restrictions sadly led to the cancellation of the 2021 Mill Road Winter Fair, but it was replaced by Mill Road Saturdays – a series of small events on the first Saturdays in October, November and December, which cheered everyone up!

Featuring craft stalls manned by some of Cambridge’s best loved crafters and makers and performances by many of the buskers and bands who would usually come to the Fair, Mill Road Saturdays brought some joy and inspiration. There was also family fun with face painting, hair braiding, science experiments, clothes swaps, cookery demos, Reiki & acupuncture healing workshops and a fabulous ‘street’ of community bunting.

Mill Road Saturdays provided celebratory gateways to the diversity of Mill Road. The main event was held at Donkey Common/Petersfield, with lines of community bunting at The Edge Café also marking the Romsey gateway to Mill Road. A closer look at the bunting revealed an I Spy Mill Road trail which encouraged people to explore Mill Road at their leisure, discovering its shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants.

Love Mill Road provided support for the community bunting project, which was made from recycled materials by The Edge Café, Jimmys, Wintercomfort, Rowan, TJ Kids and Mill Road WI.
